Knee Pitching

Mendon Baseball

The focus of this drill centers around the arm action.

  • The pitcher lines up with a ball on a line to the catcher.
  • Pitcher then kneels down on their pitching knee slightly off the line with their glove-side foot out in front of the body on the line.
  • Have your pitcher angle themselves slightly away from the target at about a 30-degree angle. The pitcher's glove should point at the catcher.
  • The pitcher keeps the ball over the line throughout the entire arm swing.
  • The pitcher releases the ball over the line with the hand facing the target.
