Hand Extensions Hitting Drill

Mendon Baseball

The focus of this drill is the proper path of the hands to the ball .

  • Place the tee out in front of the body, the player kneels on their back knee.
  • Have the player choke up almost half way up the bat.
  • The player straightens their arms directly toward the ball ( in a straight line ) knocking the ball off the tee with the end of the bat ( the part of the bat where the hands usually go ).
  • Train the front arm to extend in a direct line to the ball instead of out toward home plate and then toward the ball. This is called a loop.
